WAYS TO HELP

There are so many ways to help out and be involved in Summer Blessings

TIME - Come out and help with games and giving hugs

TALENTS - Are you a great baker or craft maker? The kids love fresh baked cookies. What about hand made baby blankets?

SNACKS - We are always in need of EASY snacks like Juice Boxes, popcicles that can be frozen (IT GETS SO HOT out there), fruit rollups or some kind of healthy snack

TOYS - Prizes for good behavior are a big expense and the dollar store is an excellent way to find little goodies. We would ask that NO guns, toys requiring batteries (unless batteries are provided), or very used toys are donated. PS it's fun to go shopping and pick out Bible based coloring books, crayons, jump ropes, dolls, sidewalk chalk, water toys - squirt guns are OK {even if they are guns} heat relief : ).

THE MOST IMPORTANT WAY YOU CAN HELP - really, truly PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, that the Lord will be honored and glorified in the lives of these Beautiful People!

SO WHAT EXACTLY do we do? : )
Our main mission is to be witnesses of the love of Jesus.  When the migrant season begins, we go out Monday - Thursday evenings and gather the children for Bible clubs.  The time the lessons actually begin really depends on what is going on with the season.  If the crops are ready for harvest, everyone may be arriving home later.  So we've learned great flexibility over the years.  Once we do have the children gathered and seated on a blanket wherever we find shade we begin with prayer, songs, lesson, verse and if we have funds, crafts and snacks.  In the process of teaching the children, the doors are naturally opened to meet and form relationships with the parents.  As needs arise, we network, first through JIPF, to find medical, dental, hygiene, or clothing help.   We like to bring toys/prizes for the children to earn as rewards for their hard work in learning songs, verses, listening to the Bible story and overall good behavior.  They love earning the prizes and they love to play group games and have fun too!
